The Long Battle, History, and life of the Jersey Devil
The Legendary Jersey Devil is a cryptic animal who people don’t realize may be more dangerous than Bigfoot. Even though the Jersey Devil doesn’t have more proof than Bigfoot people still know facts about it, people still argue about its existence, and people know its description. It is generally believed that the Jersey Devil lives in the "untouched New Jersey Pine lands" where numerous sightings have occurred. With this occurring most people believe that it “emits a blood curdling scream, ” according to websites like Wikipedia, Weird NJ, and etc. Like most cryptic creatures people have long argued for the Jersey Devils existence. With that said we need to find out about the Jersey Devil. We need to figure out where the Jersey Devil started, we need to find out about its description more, we need to find out why people don’t and do believe in it, and we need to find out if the Jersey Devil is a legend or a myth. With resources and trustful sights I have used, we will be able to find out most of these questions, and some other questions. The Jersey Devil comes from a story that dates back to either the last years of the 17th century or the early 18th century. The Jersey Devils description varies depending on the witness. But the most used description is “the head of a horse, the tail of a dog, the hooves of a goat, and the wings of a bat.” The Legendary Jersey devil is a cryptic creature, who lives in the untouched Pine lands of New Jersey, and has long been argued for its existence since the beginning of its story.”
To begin with the Jersey Devil is a "cryptic creature" who "stalks the New Jersey Pine lands". The Jersey Devil is a cryptic animal, and I have proof about it. According to one of my resources, Wikipedia, the Jersey Devil is a cryptic animal because it has mysterious features like the description, “the head of a horse, the tail of a dog, the hooves of a goat, and the wings of a bat.” Another detail that makes the Jersey Devil a cryptic creature is its "emitting blood curdling scream." This is proof of a "cryptic creature" because no other animal sort of does this mysterious noise. The only animal or should I say bird that does this is the sand hill crane, but it doesn’t even come that close to the type of scream the Devil makes. The Jersey Devil is also a "cryptic creature" because there is no animal like it, it’s an unknown species, and also, it comes from a story. The Jersey Devil also comes from the Pinelands as said in some myths about it, and numerous sightings have been there. The Jersey Devil is a cryptic creature who is thought to live in the Pine lands of New Jersey.
The Jersey Devils origin comes from either a legend or a myth. The Jersey Devil’s story began with a myth or legend saying, "That this woman named Mrs. Lee or also called Mother Lee who was going to give birth to her 13th baby wanted this baby to be a demon", so soon when the Baby was born, it began to transform into a lovely baby to a hideous creature. "It began to grow wings, and its face started to change, soon it began to kill every person in next it, and then flew off. "Though this is the most common myth and/or legend there are many more stories about the Jersey Devil including one that the Jersey Devil was born because of a curse, and this other one where “Mrs. Lee cared for the Jersey Devil until her death, in this story, the Jersey Devil flies off in the swamps.” So is the Jersey Devil a myth or a legend. First we need to look at differences of a legend and a myth. A legend has an origin that is passed down from generations, and a myth is a story that has weird things happening in it. So here is the final answer, the story of the Jersey Devil is a legend and a myth. Websites helped me because some said it’s a legend and some said it’s a myth. The Jersey Devils origin started out a legend/myth about a women (Mother/ Mrs. Lee) giving birth to the Jersey Devil
Perhaps the most important part of this whole essay, the existence of the Jersey Devil. For centuries the existence of the Jersey Devil has long been argued. People who don’t believe in the Jersey Devil often try to do some explanations, and some of those are the “Sand hill Crane theory”, “the fruit bat theory”, and even the “Pterodactyl theory.” These theories are the most discussed of the theories that I searched. The people who do believe in the Jersey Devil don’t really believe in theories, and this is because they have seen the Jersey Devil, they know how it looks like, they know how this creature is like no other creature/animal, they know that this "creature has no fear of man." One of the witnesses say that the Jersey Devil entered his house, and ran up a chimney "emitting a blood curdling scream". At first this sounds true, but first, how do you know the witness is not lying, second, how did the witness know it was indeed the Jersey Devil, and thirdly, does he have proof or other witnesses. Still the Jersey Devil is one extraordinary creature. There have been numerous witnesses since the beginning of the story of the Jersey Devil (over 5000 sightings). Probably the best "sightings year was 1909 where there was a phenomenal week" (“January 16th-23th 1909”), hundreds of sightings of the Jersey Devil were reported. This is strong evidence of the Jersey Devils existence because " the state was in panic", and there were a lot of sightings. Still people don’t believe in the Jersey Devil. Although the argue will probably never end the Jersey Devil will always have a part of history that no one could take, its legend. The Jersey Devil has a long been argued for its existence.
So I’ve talked about the Jersey Devil, how it looks like, and what people think about it. You now know that the Jersey Devil "emits a blood curdling scream". You now know that the Jersey Devil is a legend and a myth. You now know most of the questions that were in the Intro. Paragraph except for the Jersey Devils existence. The main idea of the first the paragraphs were sentences like the Jersey Devil is a cryptic creature, does the Jersey Devil exist, and how/ where did the Jersey Devil come from. My final comments are the following: The Jersey Devil is a cryptic creature who might become a new specious if found true. The Jersey Devil has been only thermal pictured before, the other pictures for me seem like hoaxes. "It was rumured the zoo was once offering a 10,000 dollar reward for anyone who captured the Jersey Devil." The thesis of the essay is the Legendary Jersey Devil is a cryptic creature, who lives in the untouched Pine lands of New Jersey has long been argued for its existence. The Jersey Devil is the animal I did my project from has a mysterious argued history.
